In class we have been learning to state our position on a subject. We have been using statements like...
I think...
In my opinion...
I am against...
Recently we have begun to insert emotive language to increase the impact on the audience when reading.
The competition is to write a strong 'Statement of Position' for the following subject.
"People shouldn't be allowed to travel overseas until they have travelled through New Zealand."
Firstly, are you for it or against it.
Remember our success criteria we developed in class.
Please ensure you check your spelling and punctuation.
Good luck.
The competition closes on Friday 28th May.

I firmly disagree that you have to travel all over NZ before you travel through any other country because someone in your family could be sick or dying and you need to go and see them in another country.
I strongly agree that you have to travel all over New Zealand before you travel overseas.
Firstly, you would meet extremely cool things in New Zealand that you may not encounter in other parts of the world, such as Hanmer Springs hot pools.
Secondly, you need to know your own culture before you experience things in others.
Another reason is that it can be cheaper to visit things in New Zealand than to spend thousands of dollars in other countries.
In conclusion, I think that I have given three good reasons as to why you should travel all over New Zealand before you travel overseas.
I am absolutely against the rule that you have to travel all over NZ before overseas.
My first reason is.... I think that they can have their own choice of which country they want to travel to, say they like London better than Auckland,I think that they can go to London instead of Auckland.
Secondly, say if you had a relative overseas and it was their birthday and you saved up enough money to go over there but you hadn't travelled all over NZ.You imagine if that was a rule and it happened to you. What would you think?I would think that it is so unfair.
My last reason is....if there was a really cool job overseas and you wanted to apply for the job but you hadn't travelled all New Zealand. How would you feel?
And that is my side of the argument.
I firmly disagree that you shouldn't have to travel through New Zealand before you travel overseas.
Firstly because you might be visiting family and friends and they might be suffering and they might need your help.
Secondly you might be working for a company that travels overseas all the time so it is part of your job.
My last reason is there might be a job overseas that you want to apply for and you may have to go and live in that country.
People should be allowed to discover and travel the world when ever they want without any laws stopping them.
I am totaly against the idea that everyone has to go through NZ before they go to another country. If they want to go to another country to experience other things that is up to them.
People have family to visit in other countries and want to see them from time to time. If everyone comes through NZ to see their relatives the airport would be completely crowded.
I firmly disagree that you have to
travel all over New Zealand
before you go overseas to any
other country.Firstly you could
find extremely awesome things
in lots of different countries.
Secondly if someone in your
family lives overseas you may
want to visit them there.Thirdly
there might be a really really
awesome job overseas and you might
need or want that job to get
money because you might be poor.
I firmly disagree that you should have to travel through out NZ before other countries.
Firstly because you might have friends or family in another country and you might want to see them.
Secondly because you might have always wanted to see the other countries culture, and see what they do differently to us in NZ.
My thrid reason is the price did you know that you can get a flight to Australia cheaper than what you would pay to go to Auckland -What a joke !and then you could enjoy the sunny weather and all them cool theme parks .
As you have seen here I absoulutely
think this is the craziest thing I have heard in my 9th years of living I am a proud kiwi (go the all blacks) but I don't like to be bossed aroundand told what to do .

In my opinion, I think that you should ride through New zealand before any other country because
I definitely think that we should not have to travel through New Zealand before we travel to another country.
Firstly, you might have family living in another country, and you want to visit them.
Secondly, it should be our choice to go to another country.
Thirdly, it feels nice to come home to New Zealand, because it seems more beautiful than before.
Finally, how would you like to have to travel all around New Zealand before you see another country?
