In writing we are working on information reports and persuasive arguments. After we finish writing we have to highlight what we think is our best sentence in green, yellow or orange. Then the next day we get our books back and it has been marked the exact same way by Mister A, and he also highlights some parts in pink, they are the mistakes that we have made.We have to fix these mistakes.
There are three sections of writing in persuasive writing, there is the statement of position, series of arguments and the concluding statement.
In information reports there is the introduction, your bits of information and the conclusion.

Persuassive Writing - Nicholas O
Animals in Captivity
In my opinion animals should be in captivity because they will be safe.
Firstly babies get to know their animals and if there were no zoos nobody would know about animals and nobody would protect them.
Secondly animals can get bored and sad because they have no company.
Thirdly there is lots of area and they can run and jump and have fun. If they didn’t have that they would be very sad.
In conclusion I think animals should be in captivity

Why we should save endangered animals.
In my opinion we should save the endangered animals.
Firstly some animals are quite useful like cows because they give us lots of milk , butter and cream. Also because their needs to be one or more animals in the world of each kind.
Secondly lizards and frogs are very handy because they eat pests that we don’t like. Hens are handy because they give us eggs.
Thirdly we should save endangered animals so that the little kids are able to see them and learn all about them and get an education.
In conclusion I think we should save endangered animals because some
Animals are really handy.

Persuasive Writing Competition
Dear Children,
In class we have been learning to state our position on a subject. We have been using statements like...
I think...
In my opinion...
I am against...
Recently we have begun to insert emotive language to increase the impact on the audience when reading.
The competition is to write a strong 'Statement of Position' for the following subject.
"People shouldn't be allowed to travel overseas until they have travelled through New Zealand."
Firstly, are you for it or against it.
Remember our success criteria we developed in class.
Good luck.
The competition closes on Friday 28th May.

Persuassive Writing

I am absolutely positively against this rule about bikes having to be riden on the road no matter what!
Firstly, toddlers. My sisters are three, sometimes when we go to the park just down the road from us, they go crazy. If they go crazy on the road... Would you feel safe with your toddler in the middle of the road?
Secondly, I am strongly against this because toddlers and their height. If a van, truck or bus backed out toddlers are way not the same height... Bus versus toddlers who would win?
Thridly, toddlers and the road rules. I can't teach my sisters the road rules in one day.

Finn is currently completing this piece of writing.
This is a fantastics start Finn. I enjoyed your emotive language and how you have structured your arguments in to paragraphs. Well done.
